the final show

As I told you before, I have been working on this huge project at school...I finally finished it!! and this is what I came out with: an industrial style where I tried to implement elements from the traditional and the essence of the brand. How do you like it?

absolute white

I have said it before and I will say again today that there is something that attracts me in Scandinavian design!! Maybe it is the presence of this absolute white, pure and powerful. As a child I grew with Italian design influence coming from my mother who loves the style and finds her relaxation in those warm earth colors. But as a young adult I started to explore more of what is outside of this side of Europe, and going up on the map, I discovered the Scandinavian design which I found, at first impression, attractive, different, and to some extend cold - totally different than the warm colors of Italian style. As I look more into what it has to offer, I come to realize the depths, the beautiful persona created around it, the amazing combination of different styles, bringing in the old with the new, the high-tech with the rawness of the objects.

With that being said, I managed to combine this style with a bit of Rococo - and this particular combination stands for my inspiration for my project on the restaurant. Even though, I have to admit it moves slower than predicted, I am, step by step, getting there; therefore, hopefully soon I will be able to show it to you guys.

Until then, here are some photos from my Pinterest showing this white I was talking about.

far far away land

I am sorry for not writing lately. This huge school project (redecorating a restaurant) and doing a research on patterns both in fashion and interior design and an in depth research of Moroccan style kept me extremely busy!

While I have been buried in books, I barely noticed that Australian Fashion Week is on...
Australia must be one of the places I am most curious to visit...I only wished it wasn't so far away!! I did promise to myself I will get there!!! Meanwhile, Australian Fashion Week is on and I was curious to see how things go and, of course, I went on Vogue.com. Not too many details, but I will figure out more and come up with more details. Until then, some photos of Sydney and some of the people at the Fashion Week:)

oh Mama!

ok..So I bought this magazine when I came out and I couldn't stop staring at him...In May 2010, Architectural Digest goes out with Gerard Butler on the cover...I mean, that was enough for me to just buy it (leaving aside it is one of my favorite magazines) but when I opened it and found the article about him and his loft in NYC, I was speechless and could not take my eyes off for literally ONE HOUR! I was just in love now more with the apartment than with the man!! If that is even possible...Being one of my favorite actors, I was absolutely pleasantly surprise to see an apartment totally different. With this apartment, Butler won my heart! It is amazing, masculine, raw, and yet extremely elegant! Elvis Restaino did an incredible job in transferring Butler's qualities in one incredible interior design!
